About the IAPF

IAPF builds percussion federations in 196 countries. We prepare artists for international competition

As one of 29 specialized federations under the International ArtsGames Committee (IAC), we are building the foundation for the return of medalled arts competitions to the world stage.

Our mission extends beyond competition, we champion percussion excellence across all cultures, fostering international understanding through the shared language of rhythm.

The International ArtsGames Percussion Federation (IAPF) is licensed by the International ArtsGames Committee (IAC) to bring about a conglomeration of various percussive instruments and their players from across the cultural clusters of the world to participate in the International ArtsGames.

Headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, the Federation works with National ArtsGames Percussion Federations in 196 countries to organize world championships culminating in the International ArtsGames.

Dr. Bowie S Bowei leads IAPF as Secretary General.

Championing Percussion Excellence
Uniting Cultures
Mission

Our mission extends beyond competition. We champion percussion excellence across all cultures

We foster international understanding through the shared language of rhythm. From the ceremonial drums of ancient civilizations to the complex polyrhythms of contemporary compositions, percussion transcends cultural boundaries and connects humanity through its most primal musical expression.

Today’s arts world rewards marketing over mastery. IAPF fixes this through merit-based competition.. Through structured competition that follows the Olympic model, we provide recognition based on demonstrated excellence rather than commercial appeal.

The objectives of the International ArtsGames Percussion Federation (IAPF) with respect to the ArtsGames drumming competitions are:

  • To develop, administer and regulate the rules governing the online Percussion competitions for the ArtsGames.
  • To generate and administer an online Percussion competition from across the cultural clusters of the world.
  • We prepare winners for live auditions and the 2028 ArtsGames
  • To develop comprehensive Programs for future competitions leading to World Championships, the Annual NAF Conventions, and other initiatives that should be planned throughout the year
